[EVENT] - LAOS - VIETNAM TOURISM, CULTURE AND TRADE PROMOTION FESTIVAL 2024

In 2024, Laos will assume the role of ASEAN Chair, which is also the country’s national tourism year, opening the golden door for cooperation and development in economic sectors. In response to the above special event, the Lao Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with Indochina Holdings Investment and Trade Promotion Joint Stock Company organized the "Laos - Vietnam Tourism, Culture and Trade Promotion Festival 2024". The program is sponsored by the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. 

On the evening of December 27, 2024, the "Laos - Vietnam Tourism, Culture and Trade Promotion Festival 2024" officially opened at Le Van Tam Park - District 1 - Ho Chi Minh City. The event took place for 5 days, from December 27 to 31, 2024, attracting a large number of businesses from both countries and visitors.

More than 100 booths brought many products, specialties, and traditional culture, contributing to creating rich experiences for visitors. In particular, more than 30 Lao enterprises and 70 Vietnamese enterprises participating in the exhibition became a highlight in the chain of cultural exchange activities between Laos and Vietnam. Visitors had the opportunity to explore traditional handicrafts, and also enjoy the unique flavors of Lao cuisine such as sticky rice, sausage, and dried pork.

In addition to culinary, the series of cultural and artistic exchange activities including traditional art performances between the two countries, fundraising activities to support Lao students, seminars, talks, and exchanges have helped to enhance mutual cultural understanding. In particular, visitors have the opportunity to experience the traditional Lao Naga (snake god) weaving technique and experience the Baci spiritual ritual - The wrist-tying ceremony.

The event was attended by senior leaders of the two countries, along with the authorities of southern provinces and cities, agencies of Ho Chi Minh City as well as domestic and foreign enterprises.

This is a special connecting event, demonstrating the sustainable and deep relationship between Vietnam and Laos, built on the foundation of friendship, solidarity, cooperation, and mutual support.

The event has affirmed the important role in promoting the friendship and bilateral cooperation between Laos and Vietnam. This is not only a platform for cultural exchange but also opens up many opportunities for business cooperation, marking a new step forward in the fields of tourism and investment.
