In 2022, the export turnover of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products will reach a new record of 53.22 billion USD. The farm sector aims to export 54 billion USD in 2023.

Sharing at the press conference about the work results in 2022 and critical tasks in 2023 organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the morning of December 30, Mr. Nguyen Van Viet - Director of the Planning Department - said: It is known that, in the context of high input costs and reduced orders due to inflation in other countries, in 2022, the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors will still show the "support" role of the economy, marking the breakthrough in the export of agricultural products. The product consumption market continued to expand in both categories and products, focusing on the domestic market and promptly removing many trade barriers.

Accordingly, the export turnover of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products in 2022 will reach 53.2 billion USD with a trade surplus of 8.5 billion USD; there are 11 products with more than 1 billion USD, of which there are 2 new products which are fertilizers and feed and feed ingredients. The industry has 7 products/product groups with a turnover of over 3 billion USD: wood and wood products; shrimp; coffee; rice; rubber; Vegetables; cashew.

Even so, the agriculture and rural development sector still sets a target of a 3% GDP growth rate in 2023; the total export turnover of agriculture, forestry, and fishery is 54 billion USD; the rate of communes meeting new rural standards is 78%; at least 270 district-level units have met the standards/completed the task of building pristine countryside.

To achieve the set goals, the agricultural sector continues to promote restructuring, improving productivity, quality of agricultural products, and production and business efficiency. Strongly develop the market for consumption of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products both domestically and for export. Building a value chain for each agricultural product, associated with the development of agricultural and rural logistics infrastructure, ensuring the supply chain of the domestic market.

At the same time, innovate and develop forms of production and business organization in agriculture; forms of cooperation, linking production and consumption of agricultural products along the value chain, connecting the global consumption system.

Based on the success of 2022, the agricultural sector will continue to promote its advantages in agricultural products and open more markets in 2023.
