From the beginning of the year to November 15, the total import-export turnover of Vietnam reached 644.68 billion USD.
According to preliminary statistics just announced by the General Department of Customs, in the first half of November (from November 1 to 15), Vietnam’s export turnover reached 13.6 billion USD. Which, 4 items are reaching over 1 billion USD, including: phones of all kinds and components; machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts; computers, electronic products and components; textiles.
From the beginning of the year to November 15, Vietnam’s total import-export turnover reached 326.68 billion USD, up 14.83% over the same period last year, equivalent to an increase in turnover of 42.2 billion USD. the same period the previous year reached 284.48 billion USD).
Regarding imports, in the first period of November, Vietnam reached 14.78 billion USD. Generally from the beginning of the year to November 15, the total import turnover reached 318 billion USD, up 11.74% over the same period last year, equivalent to an increase in turnover of 33.42 billion USD.
From the beginning of the year to November 15, the total import-export turnover of Vietnam reached 644.68 billion USD.
In the first half of November, our country had a trade deficit of nearly 1.2 billion USD, however, from the beginning of the year to November 15, Vietnam still had a trade surplus of 8.68 billion USD.
Previously, in 2021, the country’s total import-export turnover reached a record of $668.5 billion, up 22.6% over the previous year, putting Vietnam in the top 20 economies in terms of international trade. Without erratic fluctuations, import and export turnover in 2022 will exceed the figure in 2021 after only 11 months.
Import and export results in the past prove that businesses have been making good use of FTAs. For example, with the CPTPP Agreement, Ms. Vo Hong Anh, Deputy Director of the European and American Markets Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that, in the first 9 months of 2022, the export of textiles and garments to the Canadian market has grown. to over 50% over the same period in 2021. In general, after 3 years of implementing the CPTPP, the export turnover of goods to markets in the bloc has grown by 75-100%. Phones and components, electronics and computers, machinery, spare parts, textiles, leather, and footwear... are the main export items to this region.
Or with EVFTA, the EVFTA Agreement has a great impact on import and export activities because the EU is a market that consumes a lot of Vietnamese products; in which, there are products such as seafood, and rice, and also a diversified market for large industrial products. Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department - at the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that in the past two years, most of the exports to the EU had experienced high growth, especially with some commodity groups such as iron and steel. growth rate up to 200%, or coffee group increased 75.2%, pepper increased 55.8%.
Therefore, in the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to promote exports, strengthen appropriate import management, ensure a harmonious and sustainable trade balance; To step up the exploitation of signed FTAs; At the same time, promote well the role of the system of overseas Vietnamese trade agencies to expand and diversify export markets and products; Promote trade facilitation, support market information; remove barriers to entering new markets; Early warning of the risk of trade defense lawsuits for businesses.
