[NEWS] – Laos leads the list of countries receiving investment from Vietnam

In the first 9 months of 2022, Laos leads the list of countries and territories receiving investment from Vietnam, with 4 new investment projects, and 3 capital adjustment projects; the total registered investment capital reached 66.42 million USD.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) said that in the first nine months of 2022, Vietnam’s new and adjusted overseas investment capital reached nearly 398.3 million USD, equaling 69.6% of the same period last year. 2021.

Of which, 80 projects were granted new investment registration certificates, with a total registered capital of over 347.3 million USD, up 2.31 times over the same period; 15 times of projects adjusted capital with a whole additional investment capital of over 50.9 million USD, equaling 12% over the same period.

According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, in the 9 months of 2022, 24 countries and territories are receiving investment from Vietnam. Leading the way is Laos with 4 new investment projects and 3 capital adjustment projects, with total registered investment capital of 66.42 million USD, accounting for 16.7% of total investment capital. Singapore ranked second with a total investment capital of nearly 41.5 million USD, accounting for almost 10.4% of total investment capital. Followed by the United States, Germany, the Netherlands ...

Vietnam’s investment abroad focuses the most on the mining industry (32.2%); agriculture, forestry, and fishery (15.9%). The areas receiving the most investment from Vietnam are Laos (24.7%); Cambodia (13.6%); Venezuela (8.4%).

Laos is currently an attractive market for Vietnamese investors. At the Vietnam - Laos trade and investment forum on December 13, the potentials of Laos that foreign investors are looking forward to, including Vietnam.
